TRAINING AT DERWENTHAUGH

Sailing:

Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3.

National Sailing Scheme. Level 1, Level 2, Seamanship Skills, Day Sailing and Sailing with Spinnakers.

This training is done in Bosuns, Laser 2000, Picos and Toppers.


Power Boating: 

Level 1, Level 2, Intermediate, Advanced and Safety Boat.

The craft we use for these courses are: Cheverton Champs for the displacement course, with RIB’s and Dories being used for planing

We also run the RYA Diesel Course.

At T.S. Northumbria we also examine for the Helmsman Overseas Certificate of Competence. (H.O.C.C.) 


Boat Rowing

Water safety test, Competent Crew, Supervised Coxswain and Coxswain. The Trinity 500 is used for this training.

2012 Course fees for Sea Cadets and Staff

It is important to note that anyone applying for a course must send the full course fee with their application form downloaded from Westminster.

Cadets' Week £35 includes any logbooks and certificates awarded
Adult Powerboat Course weekend £35 includes any logbooks and certificates awarded
Adult Sailing weekend: £10
Intermediate and Advanced Power courses and adult week £40
VHF (GMDSS), to RYA on success £40 (£30 to RYA for certificate)
First Aid Course (including hand book) £25
Diesel Course £25
