New directions on how to get to the Boat Station

From Scotswood Bridge Eastern approach

1. Follow the A695 from Newcastle, heading for Scotswood Bridge.

2. While passing BAE Systems, take the left-hand lane to cross the bridge to A695 Blaydon.

3. Keep in the right-hand lane on the bridge and follow the A694 to Blaydon.  After sweeping around merge onto the A694. 

4. Keep in left hand lane and turn left after 100 metres, Derwenthaugh Marina is signposted at this point, towards Toll Bridge Road.

5. Follow road round to the right, over the bridge across the main road. 

6. Turn right at the end of the bridge – the factory shops will be on your left.

7. Continue straight along, do not follow the road when it bears round to the right beside Arco, but keep straight on with Arco on your right.  If it is on your left you are in trouble!

8. Continue under the bridge and along the small road beside the river.

9. You should arrive at the Boat Station just a few seconds later.

From the A1 North

1. Take the exit towards the A6085/A694/A695

2. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A695.

3. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A694 and go over Scotswood Bridge, keeping in the right hand lane and taking the road for Blaydon.

4. After sweeping around merge onto the A694. 

5. Keep in left hand lane and turn left after 100 metres, Derwenthaugh Marina is signposted at this point, towards Toll Bridge Road.

6. Follow road round to the right, over the bridge across the main road. 

7. Turn right at the end of the bridge – the factory shops will be on your left.

8. Continue straight along, do not follow the road when it bears round to the right beside Arco, but keep straight on Tundry Way, with Arco on your right.  If it is on your left you are in trouble!

9. Continue under the bridge and along the small road beside the river.

10. You should arrive at the Boat Station just a few seconds later.

Directions from the A1 South.

1.  Heading north note when you pass the Angel of the North

2. Continue along A1 heading towards the Metro Centre

3. After the Metro Centre take the exit for the A695/A694 Blaydon and Newcastle.

4. At roundabout take first exit for Blaydon.

5. At next roundabout take second exit for Blaydon.

6. Keep in the right hand lane and follow road to Blaydon. Do not go over Scotswood Bridge.

7. After you drive under the bridge approach road immediately take the left hand lane and turn left after 100 metres, Derwenthaugh Marina is signposted at this point, towards Toll Bridge Road.

8. Follow road round to the right, over the bridge across the main road. 

9. Turn right at the end of the bridge – the factory shops will be on your left.

10. Continue straight along, do not follow the road when it bears round to the right beside Arco, but keep straight on Tundry Way, with Arco on your right.  If it is on your left you are in trouble!

11. Continue under the bridge and along the small road beside the river.
